Dream of the Month (August 2011)
Dr. Holloway's Comments:
Striking characteristics: The surprise outcome to a change implies unsuspected potentials for happiness.
We blossom in our natural emotional habitat, and when we are returned to our true selves. When a job or relationship ends, most of us expect that grief and sadness will result. But when change opens the door to a return to Self, the individual typically blooms like a plant given fresh air and sunlight after a long storage in darkness.
This unusual dream invites an acknowledgment that what we need is not the form we have been attached to, but the essence of life. It is possible that the dreamer is being given a hint about her own situation, that misery clouds our understanding of what makes us feel alive, and clinging to ill-fitting conditions, while brave, it not always our highest answer, or our greatest good. The clichés of the open mind and the open heart are timeless because they are true! We can find our slice of light and stand in it, alive and vibrating, any time, today, tonight.
