Dream 01_201208

Dream of the Month (August 2012)
  1. Title: Sandwriter
  2. Date of the Dream: 2012 (mailed Tuesday, 3 July 2012)
  3. Dream: I had a dream of being in a gift store that I have been in before. The store is in an old building, and upstairs they have home accessories. I was walking through the store seeing all of the different items. I looked to my left and there was a "sandwriter," a pendulum that is suspended over sand and makes figures and shapes in the sand from vibrations. I looked to see what shapes were made; and instead was written the name Ray in cursive writing. (Ray is a man that I fell in love with, but am not seeing, in real life). I said to myself in the dream, "I did not make that happen" and then I fainted. The people working downstairs heard me hit the floor and came up to help. I then awoke from the dream.
  4. Significant life event: I have wished that we did not break up, or wished that we would resume the relationship.
  5. Personal concerns/issues: Ray had a bone marrow transplant 2 years ago, but has been recovering well.
  6. Associations: I am still baffled by what the dream means.
  7. Category: Psychic Experience
  8. Pen Name: Joy

Dr. Holloway's Comments:

Striking Characteristics: When dreams appear to provide a metaphysical "sign" they may contain important meaning for the dreamer.

There can be several threads of meaning in a dream, just as there are levels and meaning in art, literature and movies. This is such a dream.

The dream provides reassurance we all need: love may appear to be lost in the everyday sense, yet it is never lost spiritually and emotionally. Love is simply not "losable" in the way we tend to believe. All that is treasured remains in the heart forever. This realization is so striking it causes the dreamer to faint when she encounters it.

Furthermore the dream suggests that love visits us, and that ultimately we donít cause it, we merely are graced by it.

The background of the dream is always vital to consider; this is where other vital messages are encoded. The dreamer is visiting a gift store (suggesting a place where her own giftedness has been stored). This may explain why she is surveying gifts when she encounters something that knocks her out of her everyday state of mind. What seems to be a loss of consciousness can actually be an awakening to enlightenment.

It is highly likely that this dreamer has gifts of writing that she has viewed as temporary or situational, and has not fully expressed these gifts, nor "channeled" them in a way that nourishes her and fulfills their potential.

Many remarkable dreams are invitations to get out of our own way and allow our gifts to come to fruition. This dream feels like an acknowledgment of human love and an encouragement to free up the flow of giftedness. I hope the dreamer embraces this wondrous message.
