Dr. Holloway's Comments:

Striking Characteristics: Gunshots can represent devastating surprises.

This short, powerful dream illustrates how life changes in an instant. When our lives change in painful unwanted ways, it can feel like an ambush by fate. Gunshots are often featured in dreams that are processing a recent shocking change. Examples are the end of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, or attack from a trusted friend.

Any injury to the physical body in a dream is important. When the attack or harm comes from behind us, it can reflect a situation that got the drop on you, came from out of nowhere or from the shadow side of life. The back tends to represent things we are less conscious of, and the front represents situations that are in our consciousness, or on our radar.

This is a crisis scene, probably arising from a single blow dealt by life, but then compounded by accompanying problems. This dreamer has been hit with four problems at once, and the dream is mirroring his shock, grief, his sense of being leveled. In addition however, we also see his powerful ability and deep awareness that even here, even with all this, he will survive.
